How to Pay IELTS Fee Online after Registration?

Candidates can pay the IELTS registration fees through online or at the nearest IDP branch. Here is the step-by-step guide on how to pay IELTS exam fees in India online:

Step 1: Log in to the IELTS India website to register for the IELTS test.

Step 2: Select ‘Register for Test.’

Step 3: Select your choice of the test—it could be computer-delivered IELTS or paper-based (IELTS, IELTS for UKVI, or Life Skills).

Step 4: Select your preferred test type/module: Academic or General Training for IELTS, IELTS for UKVI, or A1 and B1 for Life Skills.

Step 5: Pick your choice of test location/city.

Step 6: Select your convenient date and time slot from the list of available IELTS test dates.

Step 7: Fill up the required details to complete your IELTS online application.

Step 8: Upload a clear, scanned colour copy of your passport to complete the process.

Step 9: Proceed to pay the IELTS  fee 2025.

 Cancellation Fee for IELTS Exam

1. Paper-Based IELTS Test:

 

Test Date Transfer (Postponement or Preponement):

Advance Notice Requirement: You must request to transfer your test date at least 15 days before the original test date. 

Administrative Fee: The transfer will incur an administrative charge. The exact amount should be confirmed directly with the test center. 

Process: Submit a completed “Transfer, Cancellation & Refund Application Form” along with the original payment receipt. 

Test Cancellation and Refund:

Advance Notice Requirement: To be eligible for a refund, cancellation requests must be submitted at least 15 days before the test date. 

Administrative Fee: An administrative fee will be deducted from the refund amount. It’s advisable to check the current fee with your test center. 

Process: Complete the “Transfer, Cancellation & Refund Application Form” and provide the original payment receipt. Refunds are typically processed within 10-12 working days from the date of application. 

Important Notes:

Late Requests: Requests for cancellation or transfer received less than 15 days before the test date are generally not accepted, and no refund will be provided. 

Exceptional Circumstances: In cases of serious illness or other exceptional circumstances, the test center may consider late requests. Supporting documentation, such as a medical certificate, will be required. Approval is at the discretion of the test center.

2. IELTS on Computer:

According to the latest guidelines from IDP IELTS India, cancellation requests must be submitted at least 15 days refund before the test date to be eligible for a refund; cancellation requests must be submitted at least 15 days prior to the test date. An administrative fee is deducted from the refund amount, but the exact fee should be confirmed directly with the test center. Additionally, requests received less than 15 days before the test date are generally not accepted, and no refund is provided.

3. IELTS Life Skills:

The updated rule requires candidates to apply for cancellation at least 15 days before the test date to be eligible for a refund. While the process still involves submitting the Transfer & Cancellation/Refund Application Form along with the original payment receipt, the refund amount and administrative charge may vary depending on the center. Applications received less than 15 days before the test are typically not accepted, and no refund is issued.

4. IELTS UKVI:

If a candidate wants to cancel their test, they must fill out the Test Date Transfer & Cancellation/Refund Application Form and submit it along with the original receipt of payment. A non-refundable administrative fee will be deducted. However, to be eligible for a refund, most centres now require the cancellation request to be made at least 15 days before the test date. If the cancellation is requested less than 15 days before the test, typically, no refund is issued. 

5. IELTS OSR:

Candidates can cancel their IELTS OSR test at least 72 hours before the scheduled time if they face serious issues like medical emergencies, bereavement, trauma, or military service, but they must provide valid supporting documents. However, if a cancellation or transfer request is made less than 72 hours before the test or if the candidate simply does not attend, no refund will be provided. For eligible cancellations, a partial refund of ₹8,475 is applicable for both IOC IELTS OSR and IELTS for UKVI OSR.

Rechecking Fee for IELTS Exam

The IELTS test fee can be paid by using the following modes:

  1. Credit/ Debit (Visa or Master) and Netbanking
  2. Demand Draft—Please ensure that the demand draft is drawn in favour of “IDP EDUCATION INDIA PRIVATE LIMITED, Payable at New Delhi” and is made from the list of approved banks. The list is in the Terms & Conditions document here.
  3. Bank deposit—Alternatively, candidates can deposit cash in ICICI/HDFC bank branches through a customised deposit slip that can be downloaded from the IELTS IDP India website or obtained from the nearest IELTS IDP branch office/ referral partner. A copy of the original customer deposit slip must be attached to the IELTS application form.
