What are the unique course offerings?
Indian Institute of Management Kozhikode (IIMK), Post Graduate Programme in Finance (PGP-Finance)
The PGP-Finance program is a comprehensive two-year master’s curriculum designed to prepare students for careers in various finance areas, such as corporate finance, investment banking, and wealth management. Developed with input from industry stakeholders, this program addresses the demand for skilled finance professionals in India and South Asia. Its mission is to cultivate trustworthy, experienced, and ethical experts well-versed in contemporary finance models and methodologies.
IIM K PGP Finance program has six terms. The first year focuses on fundamental finance topics and requires students to complete 54 credits. After this year, students are expected to participate in a six—to eight-week summer internship, a key component of the academic experience.
During the second year, the focus of the MBA Finance subjects shifts to more advanced courses and electives, accounting for 48 credits. IIM K PGP- Finance students are required to complete a minimum number of Finance credits as a mandatory requirement. International Immersion
The IIM K PGP-Finance program also includes a week-long international immersion designed to expand participants’ perspectives and offer a global outlook. Completing this immersion is a requirement for earning the degree. Participants are responsible for their travel, lodging, and associated costs related to the program.
Shaping Careers: Opportunities for IIM K PGP-Finance Graduates
At IIMK, summer internships and final placements for the PGP, PGP—FIN, and PGP—LSM programs are integrated, resulting in a comprehensive placement report from the committee. This report highlights the companies, roles available, and average salary packages for all three programs.
- The placement process saw participation from a total of 537 students, with engagement from more than 156 recruiters for the class of 2024.
- Over 70 new recruiters participated this year, hiring graduates across various sectors.
- The highest Cost to Company (CTC) has risen from 67.02 LPA to 72.00 LPA, particularly within finance and consulting, where maximum salary packages have seen an upward trend.
