CUET Exam Analysis 2024—The CUET exams for all slots and subjects were successfully conducted across the country in pen and paper mode on May 15th, barring New Delhi. According to preliminary reports, the Chemistry paper was considered to be harder than in previous years, while the Biology paper was as expected. Most students found the General and English Language tests to be easier than expected.

The CUET exam, slated to be held in pen and paper format from May 15th to May 18th and in CBT mode from May 21st to May 24th, successfully finished all scheduled tests for the first day. CUET Sociology paper analysis 2024

 

The Sociology paper was the last paper of the first pen and paper batch of CUET exams. With many questions directly from the NCERT texts, few students faced any trouble while attempting their 40 questions. CUET Political Science paper analysis 2024

 

The political science paper, conducted between 3:30 pm and 4:15 pm on 18th May 2024, was easier than last year, with few questions that could potentially trouble students. According to our CUET Political Science paper analysis, there was an increased focus on India and its role in global politics. Students had to attempt 40 questions out of 50 in 45 minutes, which was not a hard task for most. With very few hard questions, this paper will force cutoffs to go higher.

CUET History paper analysis 2024

 

Even though the paper was a notch above last year’s, it was still easier compared to other domain subjects. As per our CUET History paper analysis and student reviews, many questions in the paper were pretty in-depth and based on significant historical events. CUET Accountancy paper analysis 2024

 

The Accountancy paper was held in the last shift of the 3rd day, i.e., 17th May 2024. With lengthier albeit easy direct questions, most students felt that the paper was of a moderate difficulty level. CUET Business Studies paper analysis 2024

 

While this year’s Business Studies paper was more difficult than previous years’ papers, the few numerical problems and many conceptual questions made it easy to attempt. The CUET Business Studies paper was conducted in the second half of the day and required students to attempt 40 questions in 45 minutes. CUET Physical Education paper analysis 2024

 

The CUET Physical Education exam was held between 12 PM and 12:45 PM on 17th May. Students had to attempt 40 questions out of 50 in 45 minutes. As usual, this paper was easy, with most questions from the NCERT-prescribed textbooks. The only thing of note was that Yoga, as a topic, had no questions at all in the exam, which came as a surprise to many students.

CUET Geography paper analysis 2024

 

The CUET Geography exam was held in the first shift of 17th May 2024. Compared to previous years, the paper was easier, with fewer difficult questions and more moderate-level questions. According to our CUET Geography paper analysis 2024 and student opinions, the paper was of a moderate difficulty level, with the majority of the questions stemming from the two NCERT books.  Most questions were from chapters such as Manufacturing Industries, Geographical Perspective, International Trade, and Human Settlement. CUET Maths paper analysis 2024

 

The CUET Math paper was held in the last shift of 16th May. As per the pattern, students had an hour to attempt 40 questions from the given 50. Unlike most other papers, students found this paper to be tricky, with many questions from beyond the NCERT textbooks. As per our CUET Maths paper analysis, questions from vectors, 3D geometry, derivatives, and integration were much harder than the NCERT or board exam level, leaving many students frustrated. There was a massive spike in application-based questions, too.

CUET Hindi paper analysis 2024

 

Held in the second shift of 16th May, the Hindi paper was considered easy by most students. According to our CUET Hindi paper analysis, the paper consisted of many questions repeated from last year’s paper, making it much easier to attempt than the board paper. With the second-highest number of registrations after English, this paper is set to have a very high cutoff for top programs. Most questions were either repeated from before or came directly from the NCERT textbooks. 

 

A good attempt for this paper can be considered at 38+ accurate answers. 

CUET Economics paper analysis 2024

 

The CUET Economics paper was conducted in the first shift of 16th May 2024. According to our CUET Economics paper analysis, the CUET exam was harder than the board paper. However, overall, students felt that they could attempt the paper without much ado. As opposed to previous years, there were more theoretical questions stemming from concepts and definitions. Students were expected to attempt 40 questions out of the 50 listed in an hour’s time. 

 

The chapter – Current Challenges Facing India’s Economy – had the highest weightage, followed by Indian Economics at the Eve of Independence. This clearly marked a focus of CUET paper setters on Indian economic challenges and their impact.

CUET Physics paper analysis 2024

Conducted in the first shift of the second half of the day, the Physics paper was moderately difficult as compared to its previous editions. Much like the other science papers, students had to attempt 40 questions from the 50 given in 60 minutes. While the questions were mostly based on concepts from the NCERT textbooks, harder questions from Magnetism and Electricity stumped many students.

As hard as the paper was, according to our CUET Physics paper analysis, students would need a 35+ score to fare well in this exam.

CUET Chemistry paper analysis 2024

 

The CUET chemistry paper was held between 10 a.m. and 11 a.m. on 15th May. Students were given 60 minutes to answer 40 questions from the 50 provided. The pen-and-paper test contained questions from a wide range of topics, including Aldehydes, Ketones, Carboxylic Acid, Haloalkanes and Halorenes, Coordination Compounds, d and f-block elements, Solutions, and Electrochemistry. Organic Chemistry formed a major chunk of the questions, followed by Inorganic Chemistry. 

 

According to the students and our CUET Chemistry paper analysis, the questions posed were of a higher difficulty level than their NCERT textbooks, leading many of them to feel that the paper was harder than expected. Our experts suggest that students with 35+ attempts can expect to do well.

CUET exam analysis – Biology paper analysis 2024

 

The CUET Biology paper was held from 12:15 to 1:00 PM. With 45 minutes to answer 40 MCQs out of the 50 asked, most students found this paper to be moderately difficult. Conducted in pen and paper mode, the CUET Biology paper primarily had questions from the NCERT textbooks, making it a little easy to attempt. However, students did say that the questions required in-depth conceptual understanding to answer correctly. 

 

Unlike Chemistry, our CUET Biology paper analysis 2024 showed that the questions were evenly distributed across all the topics as opposed to having a higher concentration of questions from just one. CUET English paper analysis 2024

 

The CUET English paper was conducted in the 6:00 to 6:45 p.m. shift. Much like the other papers, it had 50 questions, out of which 40 had to be answered in 45 minutes. According to our CUET English paper analysis and student reactions, it was a considerably easy paper compared to last year, with the number of difficult questions going down. Most questions were in the easy strata, and very few were in the difficult one.

CUET General test analysis 2024

 

The general test, conducted from 5 to 6 PM, consisted of 60 questions, 50 of which were to be attempted in one hour. Our CUET General test analysis shows that this year’s paper was harder than the previous two years’. Overall, it was of moderate difficulty compared to the easy papers from previous years. Surprisingly, more questions were from current affairs than from any other section, making it difficult for students to attempt.
