COAP Registration 2025: The Common Offer Acceptance Portal (COAP) is a centralized platform where candidates with valid GATE scores can access and accept admission offers for M.Tech programs from participating IITs and other leading institutes.

COAP Registration
In this blog post, we will provide a comprehensive breakdown of the COAP 2025 process, including important key dates that candidates should be aware of, the various options available to them, and essential guidelines to ensure a smooth and efficient admission journey. By understanding the intricacies of the COAP process, candidates can navigate their admissions with greater confidence and clarity.

COAP Registration 2025: What is COAP?

The Common Offer Acceptance Portal (COAP) was introduced in 2017 to streamline the admission process for M.Tech programs and job offers from Public Sector Units (PSUs). It allows candidates to view and accept offers from 24 IITs and IISc Bangalore through a unified portal.

COAP simplifies decision-making by allowing candidates to compare offers from multiple institutes in one place, ensuring a transparent and efficient admission process. This centralized system ensures that no candidate holds multiple offers, allowing fairer access to available seats.

Note: COAP is NOT an application portal for M.Tech admissions. Candidates must apply separately to the respective institutes.

COAP Registration 2025: Eligibility Criteria

To register for COAP 2025, candidates must meet the following criteria:

  1. Indian Citizenship:
Only Indian citizens with valid documentation are eligible to participate in the COAP 2025 process.
  2. Valid GATE Score:
Applicants must possess a valid GATE score from 2025, 2024, or 2023. The GATE score must be valid at the time of registration and throughout the COAP 2025 admission process. Candidates with multiple GATE scores (from the last three years) are encouraged to provide all valid scores during registration to maximize their chances of receiving offers.
  3. Separate Applications to Institutes:
COAP is not an application portal for M.Tech programs. Candidates must apply individually to each participating institute as per their admission process and deadlines. Without applying to specific IITs or other participating institutes, candidates will not receive offers through COAP.
  4. Eligibility for IIT Graduates:
Candidates graduating from IITs with a CGPA of 8.0 or above (on a 10-point scale) are exempt from providing GATE scores and COAP registration. Such candidates can apply directly to the participating IITs through their respective admission portals.
  5. Sponsored and QIP Candidates:
Candidates applying under sponsored categories or the Quality Improvement Program (QIP) are eligible if they hold a valid GATE score. They must meet the specific eligibility requirements set by the respective participating institute.

Tip: Always verify specific eligibility criteria for each IIT or PSU, as individual institutions may impose additional requirements beyond COAP registration.

COAP Registration 2025: Important Guidelines for COAP 2025

  1. For COAP registration 2025, candidates must have their name, GATE registration number(s), valid GATE score(s), date of birth, email address, and mobile number.
  2. Only those who have qualified in GATE 2025, 2024, or 2023 and wish to apply for M.Tech. admission or PSU job offers through participating institutes are eligible to register at COAP 2025. After successful registration, candidates can view offers from these institutes, which will be linked to their COAP registration number.
  3. Registration is deemed successful only when a candidate completes the log-in procedure using the details sent via email and SMS. The email contains a URL along with the login ID, and the SMS contains the password.
  4. Candidates should enter all valid GATE scores (GATE 2025, GATE 2024, GATE 2023) while filling out the application. If no additional GATE scores exist, clicking the SUBMIT button completes the registration process.
  5. The COAP registration 2025 is finalized only after the candidate clicks the SUBMIT button during the first login to their account.
  6. Separate Applications: Candidates must apply directly to each participating IIT/PSU in addition to registering at COAP. Despite COAP registration, candidates will not receive any offer without applying through individual institute portals.
  7. Decision Timelines: Candidates must check their offers during the assigned time windows for each round. If a candidate does not make a decision within the given timeframe, all offers for that round will be automatically rejected.

Pro Tip: Always review the guidelines of individual participating institutes. Different IITs and PSUs may impose additional requirements, deadlines, or specific rules regarding admissions through COAP.
