Factors Determining GATE Cutoff:
IIT Roorkee will release the GATE cutoff for this year after the GATE 2025 results are announced. Several factors can impact the GATE cutoff.
1. The difficulty level of the exam is one of the most critical factors that influence the cutoff. If the exam is particularly challenging, the cutoff is likely to be lower than it would be for an easier exam. Conversely, if the exam is relatively straightforward, the cutoff will likely be higher.
2. The number of candidates who take the exam also impacts the cutoff scores. This year, around 8 lakh candidates applied for GATE 2025, which is a considerably higher number than last year. With the increase in the number of test-takers, the GATE cutoff scores are expected to rise.
3. The number of candidates who successfully complete the examination is also directly correlated with the cutoff scores.
4. Lastly, the number of available seats can affect the GATE cutoff. If an institute has a limited number of seats, the competition for those seats will be higher, which can lead to a higher cutoff score.
