While there are very few restrictions on giving the GMAT, given its inclusivity, a few pointers must be adhered to.

1. While hypothetically, it is possible to book an exam slot just 24 hours before the test date, in practice, this can become a stretch. Most slots get filled months in advance. If you look for a last-minute booking, you’ll either be forced to travel to a different city or not get an open slot at all.
2. You can give the GMAT 5 times in 365 days and 8 times in total. While it is improbable that you will end up giving more than 3 attempts, it is still important to heed this number.
3. Remember, most students take the GMAT at least twice. Make sure you leave enough time between your first attempt and the application deadline for another GMAT attempt.
4. There should be a minimum gap of 16 days between two consecutive attempts.

Identify the latest date by which you need a GMAT Score, with room for a Possible Retake: GMAT rules require a 16-day waiting period before a Retake, making it vital to include this buffer in your schedule if we fall shy of our target score on the first attempt. 4. Set a GMAT Test Date (First Attempt): With a buffer of 2 to 3 weeks to prepare for and attempt a Retake, you must aim to take the first attempt at the GMAT by mid-July.
5. Assess Preparation Start Date: Based on a starting GMAT score estimate of 565, begin your study around the first week of May to achieve your target score of 715 within approximately two and a half months. How to schedule your GMAT exam in 2025?

GMAT has made it easy to schedule a test at your convenience. Just follow these steps, and you’ll be on your way.

1. Visit the mba.com website and create an account by filling in some basic information about yourself.
2. Once your mba.com account is created, use the details to log back in and go to your My Account page.
3. You’ll find the Register button there. Click on it, and you will be redirected to the registration portal.
4. Please complete the required details, including personal, academic, and work history. You might also be asked to upload documents, such as your photograph and signature.
5. Ensure your GMAT profile matches the identification (ID) you’ll present on test day; failure to do so will result in denial of entry and forfeiture of exam fees. In India, only passports are accepted as valid IDs.
6. You can also immediately schedule your exam at your preferred test centre. Choose your appointment time and pay the registration fees.
7. You will receive an email with the acknowledgement and confirmation of your payment receipt, as well as the exam appointment.

GMAT Exam Dates 2025: 

The Graduate Management Admission Council (GMAC), which administers the GMAT exam, offers the GMAT on numerous days throughout the year. The exam does not have predetermined test dates. If you reside in a city, it is highly likely that you can schedule the GMAT exam almost every day of the week. The test can be scheduled in the morning, afternoon, or evening, depending on the availability of the test center.
