IPM Program – Highlights

 

Before diving into the selection process, let’s briefly understand the IPM program:

 

    1. Duration: 5 years
    2. Eligibility: 10+2 pass-outs
    3. Program structure: Foundation (3 years) + Management (2 years)
    4. Specialisations: Marketing, Finance, HR, Economics, Information Systems, Strategy and more
    5. Degree offered –  BA (Foundations in Management) + MBA
  • Seats available – 156 seats

 

Note—Students can choose to exit the course after three years with a BA (Foundation in Management) degree. They can also opt for a sabbatical year after Year 3 for up to two years and then resume the program. This is subject to a minimum CGPA and the college’s approval.

IPMAT Indore Selection Process – Eligibility criteria

 

Candidates satisfying the following criteria are eligible to apply for the Five-Year Integrated Programme in Management of IIM Indore:

 

  • Age: The candidate should be less than 20 years old (5 years of relaxation will be given to the candidates from the SC/ST/PwD category). 
  • Qualifying Exam: Candidate should have passed Standard XII/HSC or equivalent examination. 
  • Standard X/SSC or Equivalent: The candidate should have passed standard X/ SSC.

To illustrate the point better, let’s take a look at the IPMAT Indore selection criteria for this year’s batch:

 

  • Age: Candidate should have been born on or after August 01, 2004 (5 years of relaxation to the candidates from SC/ST/PwD category i.e. born on or after August 01, 1999). 
  • Qualifying Exam: Candidate should have passed Standard XII/HSC or equivalent examination in 2022, 2023 or appearing in 2024. 
  • Standard X/SSC or Equivalent: The candidate should have passed standard X/ SSC.

IPMAT Indore Selection Process

 

Candidates will be selected based on their overall performance in the Aptitude Test (AT) and Personal Interview (PI). Any candidate who fails to appear in either the AT or the PI or both will not be considered for selection.

 

The IPMAT Indore selection process is as follows: 

 

Stage 1: The candidates satisfying the minimum eligibility criteria should submit their application online. 

 

Stage 2: Based on the applications received, candidates satisfying minimum eligibility criteria will be called for the Aptitude Test (AT).

 

IPMAT Indore Selection Process – IPMAT Entrance Exam

 

The IPMAT exam is a computer-based test conducted by IIM Indore. The exam pattern includes:

 

– Quantitative Ability Short Answer (SA): 15 questions

– Quantitative Ability Multiple choice questions (MCQ): 30 questions

– Verbal Ability (VA): 45 questions

 

There is a sectional time limit of 40 minutes for each section.

IPMAT Indore Selection Process – Preparation strategy 

 

IPMAT Indore Syllabus

 

  1. Quantitative Ability: Algebra, Geometry, Number Systems, Arithmetic, Modern Maths, Higher Maths, Logical Reasoning: Data Interpretation and Logical Deduction

 

  1. Verbal Ability: Reading Comprehension, Grammar, Vocabulary, Paragraph Summary, Parajumble, Idioms, Phrasal Verbs.

IPMAT Indore Selection Process – Personal interview

 

In this stage, the eligible pool for the Personal Interview stage is created considering only the candidates with positive raw scores and a minimum mark in each of the three sections of the Aptitude Test. The Admissions Committee will decide the minimum cutoff mark in each section based on the categories of applicants. 

 

A sufficient number of candidates will be shortlisted for Personal Interviews (PI) from the eligible pool for each category (General, EWS, NC-OBC, SC, ST and PwD) using the merit list generated based on Aptitude Test Score (ATS) as mentioned in Table below.

Note: Maximum and Minimum scores are the highest and lowest scores obtained in respective sections by the candidates from the eligible pool. 

 

Shortlisted candidates shall appear for the Personal Interview (PI) through online/offline mode, which will be intimated to the candidates by the Institute. IIM Indore also expects a consistent and minimal performance in the different parameters of the Personal Interview, which will be decided by the Admissions Committee. 

 

This stage involves a personal interview, where candidates’ communication skills, confidence, and personality are evaluated.

 

IPMAT Indore Selection Process – PI preparation strategy 

 

Preparing for the IIM Indore Personal Interview (PI) requires a strategic approach:

 

  1. Duration: Typically 20-25 minutes
  2. Panel: 2-3 interviewers (IIM Indore faculty and/or Industry experts)

IPMAT Indore Selection Process – Final composite score

 

Only candidates satisfying the requirements mentioned in earlier stages will be considered for the final selection. As mentioned in the table below, a category-wise merit list will be generated based on Composite Score (CS), and provisional admission offers will be made accordingly.
