Assam University UG admission through CUET 2024: Assam University offers various undergraduate, postgraduate, and integrated courses. Students seeking admission must have a valid CUET score.

NTA will conduct the central university entrance from 15 May to 24 May 2024 for CUET UG. More than 250 universities, including 44 central universities, accept CUET scores as admission eligibility. Candidates must appear in CUET UG 2024 for Assam University 2024 UG admission.

Assam University CUET UG admission: Eligibility criteria 

Candidates willing to get admission must possess Assam University-prescribed criteria along with a valid CUET score. Candidates can check here all the details of the eligibility criteria:

  • Students must have passed class XII or equivalent exams from any recognized board in India. 
  • Students must have appeared in the CUET UG examination conducted by NTA. 
  • Students must select a UG course as per the eligibility criteria. 
  • Ex. Students with a humanities background can’t get admission in B.sc courses.
  • Candidates should appear for the specific Domain subject, which is closely related to their course preference. 

 

 

Assam University Admission: Admission Process 2024

Candidates desirous to get admission to Assam University must take the CUET examination. It is mandatory to attempt CUET 2024, Admission in any courses will be based on the CUET score. After the CUET result, candidates will need to separately fill in the application form for their respective course preference in the official website of Assam University.

Candidates who have passed the HS or equivalent examination (10+2) with at least 55% marks in aggregate are eligible for admission to a Five-Year Integrated Post Graduate Course in Social Work.  

Relaxation in eligibility is as per the GOI rule. The merit of the candidates will be based on the NTA-CUET score.

Bachelor in Visual Arts (BVA) BVA (4 Year Under Graduate Course in Visual Arts) 1. English

2. General Test and

3. Fine Arts/ Visual Arts.

Candidates who have passed the HS or equivalent examination (10+2) with at least 45% marks in aggregate are eligible for admission in a year’s BVA course in Visual Arts. 

Relaxation in eligibility is as per the GOI rule. The merit of the candidates will be based on the NTA-CUET score.

Integrated B.A. LLB Integrated B.A. LLB (B.A. LLB (Hons.) (5 Years Integrated Course in Law)) 1. English 

2. General Test and

3. Any two domain-specific subjects

50% of marks in the qualifying examination (10+2) as well as 45% in English subjects, separately, in the qualifying examination are the eligibility criteria. Relaxation in eligibility is as per the GOI rule. The merit of the candidates will be based on the NTA-CUET score.
Bachelor in Pharmaceutical Sciences B. Pharm (4 Years Under Graduate Course in Pharmaceutical Science) 1. English 

2. Three domain-specific subjects viz; Physics, Chemistry and Biology or Mathematics.

Candidates who have passed the 10+2 level examination with individual pass marks in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics or Biology both in theory and practical and 50% aggregate marks in the above subjects are eligible for admission. 

Relaxation in eligibility is as per the GOI rule. The merit of the candidates will be based on the NTA-CUET score.

Bachelor in Performing Arts (BPA) BPA 

(3 Year Under Graduate Course in Performing Arts)

1. Anyone Language  

2. General Test and 

3. Performing Arts.

10+2 level examination pass. The merit of the candidates will be based on the NTA-CUET score.
Integrated Bachelor and Master in Computer Science (B.Sc + M. Sc.) M. Sc. (5 Year Integrated Course in Computer Science) : 3-year B.Sc Computer Science, 2 Year M.Sc Computer Science 1. English 

2. Three domain-specific subjects viz; Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects and any one other science subject.

Candidates who have passed the HS examination (10+2) in the Science stream with Physics and Mathematics (in combination with any other science subjects) with at least 50% marks in aggregate are eligible for admission into the first semester of M. Sc. (Integrated) five-year programme. 

To be eligible for admission in the 7th semester of the M. Sc. (Integrated) programme, a student has to pass in all the papers up to the 6th semester of the M. Sc. Integrated programme.

Integrated B. Sc. B. Ed. B. Sc. B. Ed. (4 Year Under Graduate Course in Education) Physics (Hons.) B.Ed 1. English 

2. Three domain-specific subjects of which Teaching Aptitude subject shall be considered as mandatory. 

Candidates desiring admission to an Honours course in Physics should have Physics and Maths/ Chemistry.

Candidates with a minimum of 50% marks in Higher Secondary with Science background are eligible for admission. 

Relaxation in eligibility is as per the GOI rule. The merit of the candidates will be based on the NTA-CUET score.

Integrated B. Sc. B. Ed. B. Sc. B. Ed. (4 Year Under Graduate Course in Education) Chemistry (Hons.) B.Ed 1. English 

2. Three domain-specific subjects of which Teaching Aptitude subject shall be considered as mandatory.

Candidates desiring admission to an Honors course in Chemistry should have Chemistry and Maths/Physics.

Candidates with a minimum of 50% marks in Higher Secondary with Science background are eligible for admission.

Integrated B. Sc. B. Ed. B. Sc. B. Ed. (4 Year Under Graduate Course in Education) Zoology (Hons.) B.Ed 1. English

 2. Three domain-specific subjects of which Teaching Aptitude subject shall be considered as mandatory. Candidates desiring admission to Honours course in Zoology should have Biology and Chemistry.

Candidates with a minimum of 50% marks in Higher Secondary with Science background are eligible for admission. Relaxation in eligibility is as per GOI rule.

Integrated B. Sc. B. Ed. B. Sc. B. Ed. (4 Year Under Graduate Course in Education) Botany(Hons.) B.Ed 1. English

Candidates desiring admission to Honours course in Botany should have Biology and Chemistry.

Candidates with a minimum of 50% marks in Higher Secondary with Science background are eligible for admission.

Assam University CUET UG admission: Required Documents

Candidates should keep a soft copy of every required document. A list of documents required to complete the admission form is given below:  

  • Government identification ID [Aadhar] 
  • CUET log-in ID and password 
  • Academic certificates [ 10th & 12th certificates] 
  • Passport size photographs 
  • Sports district/state/national level recognition certificates 
  • Extra-curricular activities certificates 
  • Course preference also needs to be filled 

Assam University CUET UG admission: Registration process

Candidates seeking admission must register in the official admission portal of Assam University, which will be available after the CUET UG 2024 result. Candidates must fill in their desired course preference in the admission portal itself.

 

 Candidates should keep in mind that seats will be offered to the best possible course based on course preferences and CUET score so Candidates should choose their order of preference very carefully. 

 

Students should also remember their CUET login ID and password, created for the admission form. Candidates can go through, the steps for filling up the Application Form given below: 

  • Click on “Applicant Login” 
  • Click on “New Applicant? Create a new Account”. 
  • Fill up the form accordingly. Create a new password 
  • Enter the OTP received in your registered Email ID. Click on Submit. 
  • Fill up the form cautiously. “*” marked fields are mandatory. Click on “Save and Next” 
  • Upload the documents where fields are “*” marked. Image size(should be 150KB to 300KB) 
  • Select your preferred Program. In the appropriate field, enter the CUET Score according to your selected papers. Do not round off the CUET Score. 
  • Click on “Final Submit and Pay Online”. Pay using official payment gateways. 

Candidates should carefully fill in their personal and academic details such as email, phone number, certificate no. and so on, any wrong details may lead to problems in the admission process. After filling in details and uploading soft copies, Candidates need to pay application fee. Following payment gateways can be utilized for paying fee: 

  • UPI apps [ Google pay/Phone pay/ Paytm, etc.] 
  • Debit/Credit card 
  • Net banking     

Candidates must submit the admission form along with the payment, or else the form will be considered incomplete. 

Assam University UG Admission: Seat allocation rounds based on CUET score 

Assam University releases a merit list based on valid CUET scores for each UG course separately. Candidates are allocated the best seat possible based on their preference, CUET score, and other criteria mentioned below: 

  • Order of preference 
  • CUET score 
  • Quota [ UR/OBC/EWS/SC/ST] 
  • Other special criteria as per the university standard. 

 

Assam University offers reservations to quota students and special reservations to campus students. The reservation of seats for admission in each department will be as follows:  

  • Scheduled Caste category (SC): 15% 
  • Scheduled Tribe category (ST): 7.5%  
  • Other Backward Class (OBC): 27%  
  • Economically Weaker Section (EWS): 10% 
  • Person with Disability (PwD): 5% 
  • ST(H) candidates of the State of Assam applying for admission in Diphu Campus, will be given a special weightage equivalent to 20% of marks.   

 

Candidates belonging to specific quotas must have a caste certificate of the respective category, otherwise, they will not be allowed for admission based on reservation quota. Once seats are allocated to candidates, candidates must visit the official admission portal of Assam University and accept /lock their seats.

 If any candidate fails to accept the seat within the given time that seat will be considered vacant, and the candidate will also not be able to participate in further rounds of seat allocation. Assam University will contact students after the seat allocation process for further admission process via official e-mail.
