What is NMAT 2025 All About?
To prepare well for the exam, we will need to learn comprehensively about the NMAT syllabus, but first, we have to understand the exam as a whole. NMAT is a computer-based test that evaluates a candidate’s proficiency in three key areas: Language Skills, Quantitative Skills, and Logical Reasoning. The exam includes multiple-choice questions and is conducted over three months. As you will be taking the exam, you should keep an eye on the crucial examination timelines, pattern, and syllabus.
You can take the NMAT Exam three times. The first attempt and two retakes are allowed, with a 15-day gap between retakes. NMIMS Mumbai only considers the score from the first attempt. You can also change the date and time of your NMAT exam within the 70-day test window by paying a rescheduled fee. However, do remember that NMIMS only accepts the first attempt.

Language Skills
The Language Skills section assesses the candidate’s proficiency in the English language and comprehension. The total number of expected questions for this section is 36, which you need to complete within a time frame of 28 minutes. It effectively tests your ability to understand and communicate English. Quantitative Skills
The Quantitative Skills section of the NMAT exam 2025 evaluates a candidate’s ability of mathematical. This section systematically covers topics such as Arithmetic, Algebra, Geometry and mensuration, Number Systems and Data interpretation with a duration of 52 minutes for answering 36 questions.

Unlike previous years, NMIMS has entirely overhauled its selection criteria and composite score breakdown to better reflect the industry’s demands. They’ve reduced the NMAT cutoff to just 209, with a common cutoff for all campuses. A new Competency Test has also been introduced as part of the post-NMAT selection process apart from the existing personal interview. While there is no official syllabus for the competency test, we’ve compiled some first-hand experiences here to give you a better idea of what to expect.

NMIMS Competency Assessment Test Syllabus
Based on firsthand accounts, we’ve concluded that the NMIMS competency test is a 45-minute test with three sections: Verbal Ability, Mental Ability, and Managerial Ability.

Shuffling between sections and within sections was allowed. According to the students who took the test, the questions were of a level lower than that of the CAT.

NMAT Preparation Tips
