NMIMS has not yet released the exam pattern or syllabus for NPAT 2025. However, based on previous trends, the NPAT exam is expected to consist of 120 multiple-choice questions (MCQs) evenly distributed across three sections, as outlined below.

Based on the 2024 pattern, navigation between sections may not be allowed, as in 2024, candidates were required to follow a fixed section order and could not revisit completed sections.
The NPAT 2025 test window will likely be open from January to May 2025, during which candidates can take the exam. Candidates are allowed to take the main exam as well as two retakes, and the best score out of the three attempts will be considered.
NPAT Syllabus BBA 2025 – Topics for Quantitative Reasoning
The NPAT (National Test for Programs After Twelfth) is conducted annually by the renowned Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies (NMIMS) and serves as a gateway to several of the highly coveted undergraduate and integrated postgraduate courses across NMIMS campuses. These programs are designed to equip students with a strong academic foundation while imparting industry-relevant skills. The NPAT Entrance Exam is the only criterion for admission to these programmes, with no additional steps like a written ability test or personal interview. Candidates are required to take the entrance exam, and based on their performance, each participating institute will release a merit list individually.

NPAT Syllabus 2025 Quantitative Reasoning:
The NPAT’s Quantitative and Numerical Ability part assesses arithmetic, algebra, geometry, trigonometry, and advanced mathematics abilities.
Operations, ratios, algebraic equations, geometric shapes, trigonometric identities, and set theory and probability are all important concepts for addressing a wide range of complicated mathematical problems.
The following are the NPAT topics to study for the QA section, along with the number of questions. BODMAS is around 2 to 3 questions, and TSD, Time and Work is around 3 to 5 questions. Functions around 4 to 6 questions, Trigonometry around 4 to 6 questions, progressions around 3 to 5 questions, set theory around 3 to 5 questions, statistics around 4 to 5 questions, and arithmetic around 4 to 5 questions. P and C, and Probability around 2 to 3 questions and Quantitative Comparision around 3 to 4 questions.
This section is generally rated as moderate to difficult.
2. NPAT Syllabus 2025 – Verbal Reasoning
The NPAT Syllabus 2025 also includes a section that tests the proficiency of a candidate in the English language. This evaluation is based on the candidate’s knowledge of English grammar, vocabulary, contextual usage, and ability to identify errors, select appropriate words, and understand the meaning of words in underlined sentences. 3. NPAT Syllabus 2025 – Logical Reasoning
Verbal Reasoning comprises about 15-20 questions on easy-to-moderate difficulty levels and covers topics such as Syllogisms, Statement-Conclusion, Cause-Effect, and Statement-Assumptions.

Master Speed and Accuracy: Attempting 120 questions in 100 minutes is no joke! Excelling in the NPAT exam demands SPEED. You need to think on your feet and be efficient at time management. However, speed must not compromise accuracy. Achieving this balance comes down to consistent practice.

- Take 2–3 SimTests weekly, especially post-board exams, to hone time management skills and get comfortable with the exam format.
- Analyse SimTests to identify recurring mistakes or weak areas, refining your preparation strategy as needed.
- Practise solving questions under timed conditions to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
Last-Mile Preparation: Dedicate the final month before the exam to targeted revision. Revisit challenging topics, resolve lingering doubts, and take as many SimTests as possible to build confidence and readiness for test day.
For a moderately easy test like last year’s NPAT, a score of 75+ is considered a good score. On exam day, focus on maximising your score in sections where you are most confident, targeting 70% or more—equivalent to 28–30 marks per section. For the section you find most challenging, aim to secure at least 50–60% (approximately 20 marks) to strengthen your overall score and push it above the 75+ benchmark. Since there is no penalty for incorrect answers, it’s advisable to attempt all questions, making educated guesses where required.
Take advantage of the opportunity to attempt the exam more than once to improve your score further. This approach will increase your chances of securing a place on the merit list of your chosen campus.
NPAT Syllabus 2025: Section-wise strategy
I. Quantitative Reasoning: In this section, most of the questions are about topics like profit and loss, time and work, speed and distance, and simple and compound interest. If you are fast with calculations, you can easily attempt more questions and score well on the exam.

III. Logical Reasoning
To boost your language-based reasoning skills, read editorials from reputable sources to understand various viewpoints, evaluate arguments, identify conclusions, and spot underlying assumptions. Explore diverse topics like economics, sports, and history to expand your perspective and improve your ability to handle inference-based questions.
Data Sufficiency
Analyze Information: When encountering data sufficiency questions, carefully evaluate whether the given information is sufficient to solve the problem. Focus on relevant details and avoid making assumptions.
