The questions in the QA section are primarily formulated around 10th-standard Mathematics. Notably, the emphasis is on application-oriented problems. 

The questions on DI are about clear interpretation, summarisation and insightful data analysis.

In the GK section, 08 questions will focus on static GK, while the remaining 12 will delve into current affairs.

 

Important Updates: 

  • General Knowledge (GK) Score: XLRI Jamshedpur will exclusively utilise the score from the General Knowledge (GK) section for its final selection process. 
  • Analytical Essay Writing (AEW): This year, Analytical Essay Writing (AEW) will be administered during the Group Discussion & Personal Interview (GD / PI) processes. 
  • The Xavier Aptitude Test (XAT) is scheduled for January 5, 2025.

What is the XAT Syllabus for Decision Making (DM)?

There is no specific syllabus for XAT Decision Making. This section is similar to Logical Reasoning, wherein one has to choose the most correct or closest option as the right answer. The XAT Administration is pleased to announce significant updates to the pattern of the Xavier Aptitude Test (XAT) for the year 2025. These changes are part of our ongoing efforts to streamline the examination process and enhance the evaluative components that align more closely with the core competencies required for management education and leadership. 

Key Changes to the XAT 2025 

Integration of Analytical Essay Writing (AEW) with GD & PI Processes: 

The Analytical Essay Writing (AEW) component will be administered during the Group Discussion and Personal Interview (GD/PI) stages of the selection process rather than as part of the XAT 2025.  

Revision in General Knowledge Section:

 The General Knowledge section will now comprise 20 questions, reduced from 25. This section will include 12 questions on current affairs and eight from static GK, allowing for a balanced evaluation of candidates’ awareness of ongoing events and foundational knowledge. 

Adjustment of Examination Timings: 

The XAT 2025 examination will be divided into two distinct parts. Part One is allocated 170 minutes. Part Two, focused solely on the General Knowledge section, will be a concise 10-minute segment. This structure brings the total examination time to 180 minutes.
